Here's a project that may see the light of day in the far future, (I'm currently committed to finishing the "Dawn After Dark" miniseries as well as diving into the pile of stories I have for upcoming "Night Craft" issues). These are some sketches inspired by a comic I drew back in high school. For years I've wanted to completely remake it, and I may be getting closer to actually seeing a new version of it.

Not the most interesting post, but it may tease a little of what's to come with the new "Dawn After Dark" miniseries. The first of three issues is drawn and is being colored, so we may be seeing that in print sooner than later!
Pencils for a page I recently did for Hellhound Media's "Dawn After Dark" series. Written by Matt Warner.
The collected edition of the classic small-press series I wrote and drew before Night Craft is now available in the store section of this site. It's pretty similar to Night Craft, just a bit more R-rated and the artwork isn't as good. Also, it's hand-lettered. Click here to see the ordering page!
Some recent pencil art for Hellhound Media's "Dawn After Dark". This is for a three-issue miniseries you should be seeing sometime in the near-isn future.
So this is one of those pieces where I just kind of let things happen. There wasn't a whole lot of thought put into it, I just let the pieces fall in a manner that suggests there may be a story to all of this. Now I'm tempted to try and write a story to go with it!
I think it's kind of a subtle reference to a favorite childhood novel, The Fallen Spaceman by Lee Harding. This is different from the novel, but to me shares that common element of "why would you find a giant robot lying on the ground?" Pen & ink on 9 by 12 inch Bristol board with color added in Affinity Photo. These are the four main stages of the technique I used to create the style of the latest issue of Night Craft. It's basically just a process of adding digital shading to a traditional graphite drawing.
The next issue of Night Craft is almost complete! I've gone in a different direction with this one: pencilled line art with shading added using Affinity Photo. This story is a bit of an homage to the post-apocalyptic B-movies of the 1980s that have been so influential on me!
The artwork for the cover of the seventh issue of Night Craft is now available as a print, and a few other items, from Redbubble!
I was recently interviewed by Reader's Voice, you can read the interview on their website!
These are going to be next week's Book of the Week. Visit WatchWorks Comics at 814 South Main Street, Mocksville, North Carolina 27028!
neThis is likely going to be the image used on the cover of the next issue of Night Craft, coming out later this Summer. I ended up basing it on a sketch from December 2016, done before I even had a plot written for the story. The pencils were down on 11 x 17 Bristol board, it was digitally painted in Affinity Photo, with the sky being done in Sketchbook Pro.
This is a recent piece I completed for a cover to a promotional "Night Craft" issue. Pencils on Bristol board, with color added in Affinity Photo.
